🤖 What is the Mechanized Fortress?

The Mechanized Fortress, also known as the All-Terrain Combat Mek, was a war machine developed by the Armory Palace and the Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau. Machines similar to this one were originally invented for civilian use. This likely refers to protecting the villages of Nod-Krai and transporting goods, though their builds became much more militarized over time. Eventually, the machine would have some updated models developed to add heavier weapons to it. Instead of being a sole protector and useful tool for civilians, it has become a pure death machine meant for the Fatui faction. This same faction manipulated and is against Columbina, the Goddess of the Moon for Nod-Krai. They now use the machine strictly for combat, especially against you and all who dare challenge it.

🗺️ Where is the Boss?

The All-Terrain Combat Mek boss can only be found through an underground pathway in the Paha Isle. By heading north of the region and then east, you should find a dirt path that’ll lead to a cave guarded by groups of Fatui. You’ll know if you’re headed the right direction by walking past the Statue of the Seven. There should only be two Fatui troops there so it shouldn’t be too hard to take them out and get through.

When you arrive at the location, a waypoint will also unlock. This’ll allow you to teleport back there whenever needed. It’s also useful in case you need to come back with extra supplies like food and healing items. Even if you take a break from the game, you can come straight back for the fight. The rest of the cave pathway should be a straight-shot to the boss. You’ll find yourself in an open area where the mech resides.

⚔️ Defeating the All-Terrain Combat Mek

While the boss itself is meant for veteran players, it’s not too complicated to actually fight if you know what you’re doing. The mech utilizes Cryo elemental abilities. This makes Pyro teams and Attacks your best bet at dealing damage against this metal guy. Besides just doing some straightforward attacks to build-up Pyro damage, there’s a shield that you gotta worry about too. Before that though, you must use Pyro to “cool-down” the machine and weaken its Elemental Resistance over time.

As you continue the fight, the machine will eventually deploy its massive Cryo shield. This shield doesn’t just protect itself from your attacks though. While the shield is up, the All-Terrain Combat Mek will start to charge up its Ultimate attack at the same time. It will also start depleting all built Pyro damage you’ve inflicted it with. To avoid the potential onslaught on your party, you have to take out the Cryo shield as fast as you can through more damage. Doing so will stun the machine and keep it from dishing its Ultimate.

🔥 The Best Teams Against the Mech

As mentioned before, this boss really doesn’t need a complicated set-up to win. With a good Pyro team with high elemental application, you’re pretty much guaranteed to beat it as long as you keep the Cryo shield off. Almost any major Pyro team with higher stats and levels should be enough. Some specific characters though can be Arlecchino, Durin, Chevreuse for buffs, and Fischl for her Energy Recharges.

It’s also possible to go for a party that just focuses on DPS with different elements, but you need that Pyro somewhere in the mix. Without some sort of consistent Pyro output and you are potentially in for a lot of trouble. At the minimum, have at least two Pyro characters on your team. The best option is also having your Main DPS be a Pyro user. Everyone else can be of differing elements as long as they’re meant for Support and dishing heals.

💎 The Boss Drops

This is where things get a little interesting, as the boss drops are used to upgrade mainly one character only. That would be Durin. Durin is one of the newest characters in Genshin Impact, so it makes sense for players to need a reliable way to ascend him. The Mechanized Fortress boss is meant to work as exactly that. Almost all of the drops are meant to upgrade Durin. If you have him in your party or roster, you’ll want to repeat this boss several times just for him alone.

All possible drops from this boss are:

  •  Agnidus Agate Sliver
  • Agnidus Agate Fragment
  • Agnidus Agate Chunk
  • Agnidus Agate Gemstone
  • Shivada Jade Sliver
  • Shivada Jade Fragment
  • Shivada Jade Chunk
  • Shivada Jade Gemstone
  • Cyclic Military Kuuvahki Core
